Davisson, Homer G. – American Artist

Homer G. Davisson (1866-1957

A student at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art, Davisson also studied at the Art Students League (NYC) and the Corcoran School of Art (Washington D.C.). Born in 1866, Davisson painted in the U.S. and in Europe, and his subject matter was primarily landscapes. He exhibited at the Hoosier Salon, Swope Art Gallery, Fort Wayne Art Museum, and the Indiana Art Club. He was a charter member of the Brown County Art Gallery Association in 1926 (Davisson regularly spent time in the summer of each year in Nashville, beginning in 1920). He was a teacher at the Fort Wayne Art School and died in 1957.
