Edward Percy Moran (1862-1935)
The son of painter Edward Moran, and nephew of Thomas Moran, Edward Percy Moran studied in New York with his father, the National Academy of Design and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art. He was well-known as a watercolorist and was a member of the National Watercolor Society.
Waldo Mootzka (1910 to 1940)
Waldo Mootzka had no formal art training but observed Fred Kabotie at the Oraibi Day School. He learned watercolor and later was schooled in silversmithing by Frank Patania in Santa Fe. His artwork focuses on mythology and tribal ceremonies. He died at the age of 30 in an automobile accident in Phoenix.

Henry Moore, born in Yorkshire in 1898 to a coal-mining family, would eventually become one of the most celebrated artists of his time. Benson Bond Moore (1882 to 1974)

Andres Molinary (1847-1915)
Andres was born in Gibralter in 1847. Soon after establishing residence in New Orleans during 1872, Andres Molinary earned acclaim for his portrait, genre and landscape paintings. A prominent and active member of the New Orleans art community in the late nineteenth century, Molinary’s studio became a favorite gathering place for the local artists. Lewis Miller (1796-1882)
Lewis was from York County, Pennsylvania and a carpenter by trade. He completed thousands of works of art before his death in 1882. The Historical Society of York County, Pennsylvania has a large collection of Miller’s work including a hand carved and painted pediment with figures and animals.
Jean Francois Millet (1814-1875)
The son of a peasant farmer from Normandy, Millet overcame great odds to train as an artist in Paris during the 1830′s. At the outbreak of a Paris cholera epidemic in 1849, he was compelled to move to the Barbizon countryside south of the city at the advice of fellow artist Charles Jacque (who also taught Millet etching). William Meuttman (1869-1948)
William Meuttman was born to German parents in Cincinnati, Ohio. He trained under Duveneck and was a member of the Cincinnati Art Club. Like his contemporaries, Henry Farny and Joseph Henry Sharp, Meuttman traveled to the American West. The Smithsonian has records of 3 paintings he executed in Arizona between 1910 and 1920.

Anthony Meucci (Italian/American, active New Orleans 1818-1827)
Meucci was known as a portrait, miniature and figure painter. Meucci and his wife Nina, also an artist, came to New Orleans from Rome in 1818. They also worked in Charleston (where they opened an art school), New York City and Salem, MA. They are last documented in New Orleans in 1827 when Meucci painted scenery for the New Orleans Theatre. George Joseph Mess (1898-1962)
George Mess was a landscape and genre painter, as well as an illustrator and etcher. Born in Ohio, he studied at: John Herron AI, Tiffany Fnd., School of Modern Design, Columbia University, and Ecole des Beaux-Arts, France.
