Roseville Pottery Bittersweet Pattern

The Roseville Bittersweet pattern presents orange pods with thin pointed leaves on a mint green, gray, dark pink, or yellow/brown background and twig handles, 1940. Mark: Roseville in relief. 40 total shapes: 35 used once, two shapes (planter and cornucopia) used twice. One shape, #871, was used for the teapot, cream and sugar. The hanging basket and pedestal are unnumbered. Except for a 5″ vase, all Bittersweet shape numbers contain three digits and begin with “8.” Vases range from four to 14 inches. This line includes numerous fakes including shapes with fantasy blue and brown backgrounds. Bittersweet is a middle period Roseville line.
