Roseville Pottery Wincraft Pattern

Roseville Wincraft Pattern

The Roseville Wincraft pattern originated in 1948. A middle period line named for Roseville President Robert Windisch, who believed that a dramatic change was needed in Roseville’s typical soft glazes for post-war tastes. Wincraft comes in a wide variety of floral and Oriental motifs – including a panther – all with a high gloss finish typical of 1950s decorative styles. Some of the floral designs were used on other Roseville lines while others such as ivy, tulip, geranium, oak, wheat and cactus were new. Mark: Roseville USA in relief with shape and size designation. The line contained 47 shapes, 45 were used once and two used in three sizes. Wincraft was not a commercial success possible because it was so out of character from previous lines. Consequently, availability is above average. This may be the only line with a teapot and coffeepot set: shapes #250 and #271. The mug and hanging basket were unnumbered.

Colors:

Roseville Apricot with dark brown and golden tan accent colors

Azure blue with navy blue and aqua accents

Chartreuse with dark brown base and lighter green at the top.
