Roseville Pottery Panel Pattern

Roseville Pottery Panel Pattern

The Roseville “panel” line was featured in 1926 through wholesale businesses in New York, Chicago, Dallas and other larger midwest cities. The designs were influenced by the Art Nouveau style featuring nude or draped figures and floral sprays in Japanesque or whiplash arrangements. Low-relief panels alternated with smooth backgrounds which were done in matte glazes and semigloss used for the raised motifs. Brown coloring was paired with rust-colored decorations on dark brown background. The green variation, however, is prefered by most collectors.
