Clarence Millet (American/Louisiana, 1897 to 1959)
Clarence Millet first studied at the Arts Student League, New York, under the Paris trained painter, George Brandt Bridgeman (1864 to 1943). He was successful early on in his career; the prestigious Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts exhibited one of his paintings and his works were shown at the Art Institute of Chicago and the New York World’s Fair in 1939. Millet opened a studio in the French Quarter and became a member of the New Orleans Art Association and became an associate member of the National Academy of Design in New York.
