Carl Kahler (1855-1926?)
Carl Kahler was born in Linz, Austria, 1855. Little is known of his early years, but later in life he traveled extensively, exhibiting his work in Berlin, Dresden, Munich, Vienna, Australia, and throughout the United States.
Much sought after for his opulent pet portraits, Kahler became a New York society favorite. In 1919, he became a member of th Society of Independent Artists. Kahler’s work is represented internationally in museums and private collections.
