Waldo Mootzka (1910 to 1940)

Waldo Mootzka had no formal art training but observed Fred Kabotie at the Oraibi Day School. He learned watercolor and later was schooled in silversmithing by Frank Patania in Santa Fe. His artwork focuses on mythology and tribal ceremonies. He died at the age of 30 in an automobile accident in Phoenix.
