Stevens, William Lester – American artist

William Lester Stevens (American, 1888 to 1969)

William Lester Stevens was a landscape painter and teacher from the Boston school of painting. He was born in Rockport, Massachusetts in 1888 and he died in Greenfield, Massachusetts in 1969. He studied with Parker S. Perkins in Rockport, Tarbell and Benson at Boston’s Museum School, and in Europe after World War I.

Thielemann, Alfred Rudolfovich – German/Russian Artist/Jeweler

Alfred Rudolfovich Thielemann (German, born 1883)

A goldsmith of German origin, Alfred Thielemann followed in his father’s trade. In 1858 he qualified as Master Jeweler in St. Petersburg and became a Faberge workmaster in 1880. His workshop at 24 Balshaya Morskaya produced badges, jetons and fine jewelry.
