Peter Poskas is an acclaimed landscape painter who paints realist views of the towns and landscapes of Litchfield County, Connecticut. A graduate of the Hartford Art School and the MFA program of the University of Massachusetts, Poskas embraced realism during a period when Abstract Expressionism was in favor. With their crisply detailed execution and sensitivity to subtle gradations of light, Poskas’s works are both realistic depictions and poetic evocations. In the tradition of Andrew Wyeth, Poskas’s work evokes an immediate sense of time and place.
