Of all Iranian city carpets Tabriz carpets are perhaps the most Persian. Tabriz has long been a major weaving center and has been dominated by Persian merchants. Only in the last 50 years has the Persian carpet trade shifted to Tehran. Tabriz carpets are made in all sizes from small mats and prayer rugs on up to some of the largest carpets made.

Charles Svendsen was born December 17, 1871 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He studied under Thomas Noble (Cincinnati Art Academy) and at the Academy Julien in Paris, traveling and exhibiting internationally throughout his career.

Tracing its origins to 1758, the Paris foundry of Susse Brothers is most well known to collectors for their production of fine art bronze sculptures in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Carol Summers (Born 1925)

Carol Summers is a master modernist print maker known for his dreamy landscapes and graphic still life images. He was originally trained as a painter in the mid 20th century, but he became interested in woodcuts during the 1950′s and that has been the largest part of his work since. His work is held in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art and the Corcoran Gallery, among others.

Thomas Sully

A teacher at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Thomas Sully became one of the foremost early 19th-century portrait painters, known for painting pretty faces on his subjects, often disregarding reality. He was the son of English actors and was born in Horncastle, Lincolnshire. He came to Philadelphia in 1792 when he was nine years old.
